Greenwood Futures was set up to develop new value added products and services to enhance local bio-diversity. I am a trained natural resource manager and eco settlement master planner (B.Sc Hons). The business is based on my belief that good environmental design using local sustainable materials can address the environmental crisis we face and can create rural employment which is truly sustainable. By using where possible locally sourced timber in my buildings, i can keep the construction wthin the local Dorset economy and encourage sustainable woodland management, through adding value to local timber. At the same time by designing for a 100 year building lifespan i can keep carbon in the buildings out of the carbon cycle for the same period. all my buildings are super insulated to reduce energy useage for heating and incorporate passive solar design where possible. We undertake traditional timber framing and conservation of existing frames. You can discuss this and eco-build projects with us.
